The necessity of winter is that it forces us inside, both physically and psychologically,
without which we might never take a closer look at the true root and grit of things;
otherwise forever distracted by the glistening sweat and vibrant dynamism of summer months.
Winter is when we do the work.

Here, we’re getting into it. Battening down. Incrementally adding layers.
Turning to hot chocolate, and cooked breakfasts.
Pausing more to think.
Taking time to listen to music that really suits today's pace.
Appreciating every moment that the warmth of the sun rests upon our skin.

And now the first frost has come, true winter has begun.
We'll get inside, we'll keep the hearth warm,
we'll get the slow cooker simmering so that come spring,
whats inside will be ready to emerge…
